Bara Epic Israel event is an international mountain bike stage race in teams of 2 riders, the team must ride the whole distance together until the finish line, within the time limit (No more than 2 minutes between the riders is allowed).

The race is 4 days long (prologue and 3 stages).

The first day is the prologue - mostly shorter than the others by distance, each team starts separately, in gaps of 30-60 Sec..

 The team’s time in the prologue counts towards the team’s overall time and overall ranking

According to the GC ranking (General classification) after the prologue the riders will be divided into boxes for the 1st stage start lane.

Days 2-4 – Each day is called a stage - Stage 1/2/3 - The race routes change from year to year to give the rider a challenging, versatile and balanced route, combines with tar roads, farm roads and singletracks, usually between 75 to 110 km per day.

In each stage we have 2-3 Feed zones, the Feed zones are located 2 hours riding time for the average rider. In the Feed zones you can find water, isotonic drink, gels, bananas and more great race food.

Technical assistance - In the main feed zone of the day you will have the race mechanic with spare parts to help you with technical problems. In the other feed zones, you will have a box waiting for you with spare parts to fix by yourself any mechanical problem you will run through the stage, we recommend riding with special parts that are unique to your bicycle.

The routes are fully marked, no GPX file is publishes.
In July the routes description and graphs will be publishes in order for you to best prepare.

Finisher – A rider who finishes the whole route within the time limit.

Only teams of 2 riders can start the prologue. If one of the riders had to abandon the race for any reason, his teammate can continue riding and he we be an individual finisher if he finishes the whole distance of the race within the time limit.

Race Categories:

Men – A team of 2 men riders.

Women – A team of 2 women riders.

Mixed – A Team of a man and a woman riders.

Masters – A team of 2 men riders that both of them are above the age of 40.

Women Masters – A team of 2 women riders that both of them are above the age of 40. (The category will open in minimum of 5 teams.)

Grand Masters – A team of 2 men riders that both of them are above the age of 50.

 

Podiums and Ceremonies:

On each day directly after the race the Men's and Women's podium will take place at the main stage.

All the ceremonies and podiums will take place during dinner at the race village, daily and GC podium.

A daily briefing for the next stage will also take place at dinner and it is obligatory for all riders.

In the last day the ceremony and podiums will be at noon time in the main stage.

 

Riders' kit:

All riders will receive a rider bag full of goodies, inside the bag will also be an envelope with critical staff for the race – race tag, chip, no. and more.

At the week before the race the riders' kits will be delivered to the Trek shops around the country according to your request in the registration.

You can also chose to pickup your rider's kit from the race village (The recommended option for international riders) They will be ready to be picked up the day before the race and in the morning of the race according to the race schedule.

Race village: Race village is the start/end point of each day. It also the place where everything happens – Ceremonies, podiums, meals, technical assistance, massages, expo and more.
