The Sharon-Carmel Cities Association for Environmental Protection (SCCAEP) was founded in Israel in 1979. Currently, the SCCAEP serves a population of approximately 1,000,000 people that includes 19 members: large cities, both local and regional councils, and councils from Arab society. The SCCAEP leads the region in reducing the environmental impact of human activity and dealing with climate change through: environmental planning, sustainable development, promoting the transfer to renewable energy, waste management strategy, environmental education, raising awareness within communities, and the prevention of environmental pollution and hazards, to name a few.
